Caption Contest: An Iota of IoT![]() Is your toaster smarter than you? It's not a question that comes up very often, but that may be the way of the future, as we move into a world of connected devices. Cars that drive themselves, doors that recognize you and refrigerators that tell you you're not eating enough vegetables. That is the promise of the Internet of Things (IoT). Will this make life easier for us, with cheaper, always-on solutions or are we bringing in a dystopian nightmare where machines rule the world? Will constantly connected everything make life simpler, or just allow for more hacking and ransomware disasters? And also, is that toaster really smarter than you? And so we thought, perhaps that's what needs to be explored in this month's caption contest. Let's get those creative juices flowing -- but this time, instead of mocking humans we'll make fun of machines. Enjoyment all around, and no danger of being politically incorrect.
As usual we will look for your entries based on the cartoon here. First place will receive a $150 Amazon gift card, second a $75 gift card and third a $50 gift card. Registered users can enter as many times as they want in the contest. The contest ends at midnight ET on June 15, and the winners will be announced the following week. So make sure you get as many entries in as you can by then. *Terms and conditions apply.
