Digital transformations are taking place across all business verticals, from small-to-midsized businesses all the way up to the enterprise level. But businesses that fail to take advantage of new technologies, such as SDN and NFV, risk becoming irrelevant in the digital world.
To address organizations' digital concerns, Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) sponsored a white paper, which was written by IDC. In the survey by IDC, 97% of the "digital leader" respondents acknowledged some importance of the network for enabling their digital initiatives "today," with 53% saying the network was "very important."
When asked to project over the next two years, more than two thirds (68%) of digital leaders called the network "very important."
While IDC predicted that digital transformation would increase connectivity levels by 50% across all industry sectors in 2016, the digital leaders that responded to the survey ranked insufficient network resources at the top of the list of obstacles for achieving their digital goals.
