Hard to loose what you didn't have :) If anything, we are moving to environments that are allowing us to get out of these silos and allow for future integration and flexibility. Companies are now providing solutions to fit these models as well as providing ways to integrate legacy systems. (If not, they are missing a great opportunity) Also, Look up MEF 55 ... from a standards perspective this is a model for industry to be MORE compatible and allows the ability to integrate, not only inside a company, but also across various companies/vendors Look at the work being done on the East & West bound interfaces in the standards body LSO Archtecture....
