@DHagar:

Reevaluating and reprioritzizng must be an ongoing process. That is very critical element for any innovation to keep evolving.

Re: Big Deal
@batye:

ofcourse some times it is amazing to know how many different ways we can look at the same thing and also to have different perspectives. But most importantly one should have willingness to do so. Only if you are with an open mind you will have tendency to think different or see different.

Re: Big Deal
ms.akkineni, good points.  That was what I was referring to in that HPE has invested heavily in promoting their "new" capability and it would seem that they were positioning themselves differently in the marketplace.  The Telefonica dump - reflecting the limits of HPE's architecture and offerings - puts that goal in question.  Are they truly changing or are they marketing themselves differently?

Re: Big Deal
it appears it is focusing on selling what it is developed, not on what it can become

@DHagar:

I had a similar thgought while reading this article. But if we think about it, sometimes it could be a bit more to that. It totally depends on the vision of the company and which direction it is focussing to head into. But we have to agree that there must be flexibility to think out of teh box when a different opportunity comes in. Just to become diverse provided if it is worth trying.

Re: Big Deal
@bayte, good answer.  In addition to seeing things differently is the willingness to learn something new.  When you step out of that box you are in new unfamiliar territory and therefore have to put concepts, models, and things together differently.  So we have to be willing to think, rethink, change what needs to be changed, and learn about the new.  That is what stops some people.

Re: Big deal
@NewlPLiz, that's an interesting example.  The points of agility and flexibility, tied with a trusted long-term relationship, suggests that SPs need ecosystems that provide a reliable network.

That is what I see as the future are networks that rely on connecting platforms that provide those elements.  You can customize and adapt to preferences but build a scalable model that is feasible.

@DHagar  I would say it more like getting out of the box and trying new way to solve the problem... not following old pattern...

Re: Big Deal
@bayte, Yes, I believe that unless you change the entire context and then move the systems forward in that new paradigm - including reprioritizing and selecting the architecture and models that serve you best - you are just trying to squeeze value out of old models that are running out of steam.

What is it that you feel new paradigms offer?
