Re: Interesting IP policy
The simple solution to that is this:  Lawyers who are smart enough to figure out how to "balance it all out".    Not everyone will win--that's for sure.    The incubator has to make sure it is amenable--I know if I ever decided to move and take advantage of an incubator I want it to allow me to be free without interference.

Re: All about resources and mentoring
It is another interesting discourse to join--I am glad to see you agreeing @Batye.   Change is always positive--no question.   However, iOT in and of itself is challenging due to a multitude of challenges that has to be overcome including platforms, systems and the frankly the "Chasm" that still has to be crossed.    It is bound in the eyes of some not to be as "positive" as one would like and hope.

ProGlove - another wearable category?
Watches and VR/AR goggles seem to have peaked a bit.. so maybe gloves, earbuds and other wearables are going to catch on? I haven't seen too many smart gloves in action, but it sounds like a potentially useful gadget. Getting used to charging gloves, tho....

Interesting IP policy
> "the operator makes no demands on the intellectual property of the companies it is helping.."

That's an interesting policy, and it probably helps ease some concerns that startups might have with taking money from an investor that might be potential competition down the line. But I wonder how an incubator like this attracts entrepreneurs in the first place? Usually, it's not just the money for investment rounds, but also connections to help these businesses grow. So.. will these startups get some preferential treatment on the network side?

Re: Fits with Industrie 4.0 approach
@Iain, that's a great vision!  I believe if they provide that platform for DevOps and innovations in IoT they will build an excellent sustainable capability to provide the service, connections, and a link to ongoing development.  This foundation, along with driving partnerships in the value chain, gives them a strong market position.

As you say, when/where will the first innovations take place and the results of their Value Chain; I believe that will demonstrate the real ROI.

Fits with Industrie 4.0 approach
I've been speaking with Deutsche Telekom about Industrie 4.0 and they clearly see a critical role for themselves as the entity that can bring companies from different parts of the value chain together to work on IoT services. The outreach to startups obviously fits well with this approach. When might we see some of these technologies being supported in Deutsche Telekom's enterprise offerings, I wonder?

Re: All About Resources
@bayte, no, you are just putting things in context.  The pace of change is definitely speeding up and the compounding of technologies (i.e., IoT), only makes these changes appear to be coming faster and faster.

It is true, change now is less an "event" as much as an ongoing presence.  So I think we will begin to expect it as a constant.  Fasten your seatbelts!

@bayte, good clarification.  This is a new paradigm and totally different context.
