Re: Saudi' Moving Into a New Era
ms.akkineni, very good points about the industrial culture of Israel.  That is a strength.

I predict they may be a strong player in the market.  They also have infrastructure and background in military and defense, also industries that have been in the past behind our technology advancements.

Re: Saudi Telecom on OpenStack
ms.akkineni, and they are accustomed to playing in the global marketplace, so they do have good experience there.

I would also believe that probably the connectivity and consumer use of telecom internationally may actually be greater than in the US - as this provides more means of communication and entertainment.  They may position themselves on the front of a growth curve.

Re: Saudi Telecom on OpenStack
mhhf1ve, yes this will be a new proposition for them - but they seem prepared to take on the new challenge.   I predict they will be quick studies and learn to compete effectively.

Obviously they are accustomed to smaller more controlled markets, as you point out, but they have the resources and seem ready to learn new ways to compete.  We will see how far that motivation takes them.

@DHagar:

 Israel also has built some strong technology capabilities and is advancing their position in the marketplace...

I can only foresee promising developments from Israel knowing the key strengths of the country - Skill and hard work. We see that is being clearly demonstrated to a major extent if you think about their role in NYC wall street companies.

 but there is so many factors in play... and they do like to spend money....

I agree there could be many factors to consider. Besides they like spending money, They have money to spend. That actually makes this whole thing more promising.
