Re: Is AT&T the Real Deal?
@ms.Akkineni yes, back then, if my cell phone rang indoors, I had to go outside or at least stand in a doorway to hear anything -- most inconvenient when it was raining.

Re: Is AT&T the Real Deal?
@Ariella:

I can't agree more with you.

I use AT&T's mobile services at present. I was using TMobile in 2014 for a very brief period. I must say that there is no comparison between the service. In my experience I always had service and connectivity issues with TMobile. I believe their coverage was pretty limited to specific areas back then. There could have been improvement by now i would hope. But certainly it wasn't working for me. Then I switched to AT&T and have been with them ever since. I would say it is going pretty smooth.

Re: Is AT&T the Real Deal?
LOL @vnewman All I can say from experience is that it is much, much better than T-Mobile. I don't have any problems with the service in general and find the customer service people very nice -- again a contrast to that other company.

Re: 80% in the cloud
This is an interesting point.

I also agree in my area Verizon has the fastest seed connection, I would say, by far. It can be pretty costly, as you stated however. I think that's why AT&T is going with the cloud because it really will save a lot of money for AT&T.

I think AT&T realizes that Verizon is becoming the leading carrier in the country because of it's faster connection. AT&T are trying to beat them to the punch when it comes to the cloud.

Re: Is AT&T the Real Deal?
@afwriter - I've also been a long-time subscriber - since like 1994 or so when I got my first cell phone.  I've always been with ATT - the motivating factor?  Fear.  Like the saying goes, "The devil you know is better than the devil you don't..."

Re: 80% in the cloud
@Joe I'm sure they do. Certainly, in my area, Verizon does offer the fastest speeds for internet. But it also is the most expensive option and not so much better than its one competition to warrant the higher price plus undiscloed regular month equipment rent/maintenance fees.

Re: Survival
Yes, great point.

The cost alone is a great insentive to switch over to the cloud and is why the markets are becoming more and more cloud based. I think it's the only reasonable thing to do, for now anyway.

Security is always a problem when dealing with the cloud. However, I think that in the future the security of the cloud will be greatly improved (hopefully).

I think it is wonderful that AT&T lasted this long being a company offering great customer service and products to their clients/customers.
