generational differences
I had never thought about gearing products/services towards different generations, but it makes a lot of sense. My father in law still gets his email account confused with his browser. :)

Re: generational differences
@Mike, yes Mike interesting point... and it will be here to stay... few days ago I got myself a new Pokemon game I play to forget reality and  relax, while standing in line to pay- I see 6-7 years old kids screaming at his parents - demanding to get latest call of duty game... with a lot of violence and adult content 16+... go figure....

Re: generational differences
Technology is advancing at an increasing rate -- probably faster than some people can keep up with it. So gearing things for different generations can happen by accident, too. I've seen some UI designers forget that 90% of 40+yo's can't read small print in a graphic interface (without reading glasses)....

Maybe someday there will actually be some enforcement of user interfaces that can work for the visually impaired.

Re: generational differences
There is some ADA enforcement, but it seems like only the federal government takes it seriously... It's unfortunate that the ADA requirements don't spill over much into the private sector.

Perhaps "generational design" will get designers to think about people with various disabilities...?
