Re: Implications for transit networks
This is very exciting. I am glad to hear that they are developing partnerships and realize that no one company can do everything. I am interested to see the collaboration with OTT vendors and the effect of FCC restrictions on the telco industry.

According to Ovum, a consultancy firm, telecoms are expected to lose $479 billion of revenue to VoIP OTT operators. And this excludes video and other OTT services.

Customers make the most use of OTT are the driving force for OTT advancements.

Implications for transit networks
Im interested in hearing what people think the implications are for transit networks as we evlove towards 5G.  As more and more use cases come to life with open API's and software developers jumping in to take advantage of NFV, SDN and QOS capabilities, I would think there will  be more demand for transit networks to also support the capabilities being enabled?  I can envision AT&T, Verizon, Level 3 and Windstream to name a few, developing these Virtual CPE solutions (maybe they are already).  The slices that Svardh points to also will require bandwidth on demand to support the bringing up and tearing down of bandwidth to support low latency apps, as well as IoT related applications.  Thoughts?

Re: interesting to know
Not so sure that smaller companies have much of a shot... Even big companies like Google aren't really making THAT much of a dent in the market, and regulations are hard to navigate for any company without dedicated resources in the space.
