Re: as technology develops
@dir5288, I agree with your assessment.  My point was that we "lead" in new technology developments (i.e., Apple, Microsoft, IBM, AT&T, Facebook, Cisco, etc.) and the science of computer science - which we export around the world.  I think that we may not be as advanced in fully becoming a digital country in that we have other choices, resources, etc.  It seems that Europe, developing nations, etc., are more quickly adopting digital networks to become truly digital countries.  I believe we will get there as well.

Re: as technology develops
Yeah I agree.

I don't know as of yet if we're the leaders in digital technology. However, I do think we are moving in the direction of getting there. It's going to take time, but I think we can move forward with new technologies and evolve into a digital country.

Re: People
Yes exactly!

I feel like too many times the people go unnoticed. Not the consumers, but the people behind the technology. We are always focusing on the technology behind the new devices, but sometimes the people don't get the credit they deserve. The people are what drives these forces.

Re: as technology develops
@mpouraryan, well stated.  Apple has shown the way.  If companies don't become engaged and transform they will be left behind.

Re: as technology develops
Our challenge here, as I see it, is to entice others to live up to Apple's Example.  The Technology is now available--why it is not being done is mind-boggling to say the least.

@mpouraryan, very impressive indeed!  They are setting a high bar.  It is both an example of what can be done, as well as inspires others to strive for greater accomplishments.

Definitely exciting!

Re: as technology develops
What was also remarkable is how they have been able to achieve a 93% renewal rate worldwide--not withstanding some of the other initiatives like 99% recycling packaging and other initiatives.     This is truly transformational--I was also blown away at what they noted with Apple TV (which is at the heart of Telco Transformation as well).

Truly challenging times....

Re: as technology develops
To your point, what Apple noted in what they've done in China is remarkable--They have been able to build a 40 Megawatt solar farm with no impact to the local ecosystem powering their entire infrastructure in China--that's impressive--and they are not stopping there!!!

Re: as technology develops
@mpouraryan, agreed - self-serving motivation, however is good, in that you want to accomplish goals and if transforming is one of your goals that is a good thing.  That is different than "selfish" goals which only benefit me.

If it is truly "sustainable", it has to both serve the vision plus "produce" revenues to make the investment beneficial, as you point out.
