Re: video
Even when they do, all that happens is a bunch of people post angry comments about it while other people remind them that it's a free service and can pretty much do as it pleases.

Re: video
@JohnBarnes Good point! Social media's had a big influence on that - news travels so quickly now, and anyone with a camera on their phone can be the one who reports it.

Re: Awesome!
Ted Talks is an interesting take on what you have noted-0but I would also suggest that it is beyond as the nature of it is changing as well.    This is as I was quite interested to see the story in this morning's WSJ about how TV advertising is coming back.

tt has to offer
I know TT can offer a variety of things so I'm not surprided that they are branching out in the media/video etc.

Re: video
@Michelle Verizon warns you when you get close to your allowed data (though it isn't always the most accurate.) And you can purchase, on a month-to-month basis, more data if needed to avoid actual overage fees. Those do tend to be cheaper than if you were to just take the overage fee. Either way, I get really annoyed because every few month, without fail, I will get into a place with subpar WiFi, turn my WiFi off, so I can use data and actually access whatever content I want - then forget to turn WiFi back on. Until I get the lovely warning that I'm using too much data. To be fair, data allowances have increased from what they once were - not that we don't pay for it, but they have. And if streaming becomes more and more of a "thing" they may agree to up the anty again. Though I do appreciate that once I start watching anything on my Amazon app, if I'm using data, a warning pops up.

Awesome!
I envision this to be similar to TED talks. Maybe I'm way off base, but videos from people in the industry giving candid talks, sounds pretty exciting. Being able to feel like someone is specifically talking to you about upcoming plans and projects from an unending number of companies will be an exciting change of pace. I look forward to this!

Re: video
@faryl, surely not a dumb question at all but one that reveals how fast and how much the world is changing. We're moving so fast into a world where all content can be recorded, copied, re-edited and curated that the distinction between live-streaming and recorded-streaming is practically gone. Think how often during some major news event (or major as defined by the news media) the actual "live" content is just "If you just tuned in, I'm a talking head pretending I know what is going on. Here's a video clip from earlier, here's what we know since, here's a link to even earlier video that we're not showing as much of, whoops, here's a clip recorded more recently --- " Newscasters are becoming more like djs, and not like the djs of old who played popular songs all the way through over and over, but more like the mixmasters of today.

Re: video
I would take a "crack at a response" in that it has to be both--the App-Based on demand transformation we are witness to is in this regard as noted by CBSN right now.
