Re: I'm telling you
I have a simple solution for it:  free municipal wi-fi.   No need to "gobble up" data.  The question is whether the telcos' are going to go for it or not.

Re: Makes sense
@vnewman - ha ha, I can definitely relate to your kiddo thinking the button was a toy. I am POSITIVE mine would do something similar. Though when they rolled them out I saw a post from Amazon that said you could only order a certain number at a time with the button, to prevent such situations. Though I had no idea you still have to confirm the purchase. Which I guess on the one hand makes sense, I'd hate to accidently push the button, which turns into an accident that literally costs you money. On the other hand, what's the point of the button if it alone doesn't do the job? If you have to log into your account anyway, you might as well have just done that from the start - like you stated with the one-click option.

Re: I'm telling you
At what point will people look to their cellphone as a way to watch TV when the cost of the data usage is going up. If Verizon spent the money on building out fiber data to everyone in the eastern coast, we have no issue with video streaming service Verizon will have best service. With the cost of the new 5g and how much data cost customer will not make better business for Verizon when it has a faster pipe lane in the fiber optic streaming with FiOS. When you can charge for the mobile app that will let those customers that have data to be able to stream programming that those customers that have a paid video package.

Re: Makes sense
@elizabethv - I have a number of buttons for household goods and I have to say, so far, it's not lifechanging.  The amount of time I spend near the buttons pales in comparison to the amount of time I have a computer or phone handy where I can just use Amazon's one-click to buy them.  You still have to confirm the purchase anyway, it's not like pushing the button completes the job.  If that were the case, I'd have 40 boxes of garbage bags coming, as my kiddo thought the button was a toy.

I'm telling you
I have said it before and I will say it again...I hate my bill, but I love the things that AT&T is doing for mobility.  5G and LTE Broadcast are the next biggest things coming to mobile in my opinion.

Makes sense
As we progress to getting more and more daily items to become "smart" items, it only makes sense that there be an increased need for figuring out how to handle all that traffic appropriately. Amazon fairly recently released "buttons" to allow consumers to order a product with just the push of a button - such as Tide and Dasani. I don't know it to be true, but I've heard of the possibility of refridgerators that allow you to order products you are running low on right from the door. Then with the introduction and talk of "smart cars" and growth of "smart TV's" everything is getting online. Verizon is smart to invest in and work towards the best ways to make this feasible and high quality.
