The great outdoors
Most of these numbers make sense, but I wonder how the amount of time spent looking at outdoor advertising is calculated.

Overlap
There is a certain amount of overlap here too because I know I am not the only person who is playing on their phone and watching TV at the same time.

As a whole this study is not incredibly surprising; just look down the street the next time you are walking, people are too busy on their phones to even look up while walking.

Re: Mobilizing
I am finding myself using mobile more. Not so much as a "snack" in public places, but while lying down. I find it a good way to keep up to date with the news. So of course it is cannibalizing other media source - more screen time means less for everything else.

Re: Overlap
afwriter - yes, absolutely. As you would imagine there has been rapid growth in "media multitasking" which disproportionately benefits mobile devices. So that's a component of this. I also think there's a trend towards smartphones and tablets, probably at the cost of PCs.

Re: Mobilizing
@dcawrey Me too - I find I'm using mobile far more often than other desktop devices. I never ever thought this could be an option. Given the rate of technological advances in both web and mobile technology, I can see how it might win out over other media.
