Re: Interesting Topic
Even though traditional methods of viewing are still the most popular, we're seeing some significant changes occur. Over time, that's going to result in OTT and mobile dominating as demographics start to change. The numbers pretty much facilitate that.

Re: Mobile Phone
It's crazy to me how fast video is taking over! It's become super popular especially in the last 5 years and it's only going to get bigger and bigger.

First step in any decent analysis: disaggregation
I'm glad to see such a thorough and careful breakdown of the terms, and why they change the results so much. It would be good if every industry and analyst had similar habits.

Re: What about casting?
That's a great point - how to account for usage of mobile devices as enablers of video viewing even when they are not the viewing device. Should that count as mobile viewing? I don't think it matters, as long as the definition is consistent and clearly communicated. But as you say, this gets very complicated very quickly.

Mobile Video
I think NIST, IEEE or ANSI should provide a standard definition of mobile video and develop standards for mobile video if they have not already done so.

I think mobile devices are any portable devices that can view video (Wi-Fi or cellular) anywhere in the world, of course, depending on your data plan.

A mobile devices includes smartphones, laptops, tables, notebooks, ipads, MP3 players, etc.
