@Faisal, I agree that a lack of definition, or leading standard, can inhibit the market.  That is why I believe you need an "ecosystem" to set the foundation from which multiple operators can deliver with open space solutions.  They then have some definition of service value and are aligned with structure, not just an "ad hoc" open system.

Open Sorce can offer a lot to others so they can and should invite others in so they can be in on the success.

While too many Opensource initiatives are good. Yet the fact remains that the operators are often confused on so many options out there, so is the case for the vendors. Where should they focus their efforts?

Excellent poll and perspective on the market.  I think that is the key to driving new business opportunities.  It appears to be true across technologies in linking key networks with new channels, services and markets.
