@afwriter - A la carte is the holy grail, but getting it licensed from the content owners is difficult. Their economics are tied to bundling the great, OK and fairly awful into one must-have bundle. Frankly till now I don't think the operators have really wanted to change that model either, but that may not be true anymore. 

Not sure but I do believe Vue offers a DVR, but maybe depends on the device? I was just looking at pay TV operators for this one.

Let's go A la Carte
I think that the slim packages are a step in the right direction, but I wish we could just download each station as an app and pay a fee for that station only.  I would much rather pay $10 a month for the two cable stations I watch than pay for a slimmed down package. 

As far as having DVR with this slim packages doesn't Sony/Playstation Vue offer DVR with their product?
