They do appear to have a model that works so why not keep with the thing that works? Thanks for providing more info about hardware.

To me, the options related to freeing/liberating people from proprietary solutions -- while a notable benefit -- is a red herring.  SDN and other virtualization technologies have not caused proprietary switches and other proprietary solutions to obsolesce, and a number of industry experts agree that those proprietary, non-white boxes will continue to have their place for the foreseeable future (particularly in larger enterprises).  (See this piece I wrote for one of TT's sister sites: link)
