Re: bandwidth
That would be nice...AT&T just implemented caps on their uverse usage. We're definitely bandwidth hogs here though - both of us like having shows on as background noise, so it's not uncommon for both tv's to be streaming Netflix, while one of us also watches "video shorts" on our phones. (I also leave parks & rec playing on Hulu to keep the dog company if I'll be out for a while!)

Re: Power User
Anyone else dislike having to watch videos to get information? One of my pet peeves is clicking on a link and finding out it's a video with no transcript. I think it's partly because I can't "skim" a video to get to the point.

Re: Power User
The question about the practical usefulness of viewer data seems be a common thread among stories about viewing habits. Hopefully we're approaching the point that the companies who create the surveys will start to recognize the importance of designing them to include the right questions to make the resulting data more useful (i.e., get answers to the kind of questions being raised after reading the current surveys' results)

Re: Power User
Good point!

I also think that if they started asking the right kinds of questions to the consumers they would get the feedback that would greatly help them in the long run.

Re: OTT Power Use Habits
Can you clarify/expand on your point about the only reason there's only streaming on phones because it's a feature?

Re: Sure
@faryl: For my own part, I just stopped watching Hulu altogether.  Now I'm no longer frustrated by Hulu commercials either.  ;)

Re: Sure
That's why I was never a fan of Hulu. I hate commericals enough! I am a huge Netflix fan though. No annoying ads yet thank God..

Re: Sure
I ended up "re-cording" because it was a cheaper deal for my internet and I hate both the VOD & live tv because the commercials drive me batty!
