Re: marketing
Interesting piece. Surely snowflakes are not the way to build a platform. Lego blocks, even in different sizes, can be put together. Snowflakes? Impossible to build with. Plus they melt pretty quickly. Probably because they aren't interoperable :)

Snowflakes never seem to be a good thing (unless it involves Christmas or skiing!)

Industry Needs to Normalize VNFs
I agree the industry does need to normalize VNFs, effective standards would help in the normalization process.

It is great that AT&T is going deeper by moving past Layers 2 and 3 and also using the ODL-based controller in Layers 4 and 7.

An impressively effective metaphor
Also, kids can build with snow or with Legos, but you have to crush the snow into shape and destroy most of its individuality, and use fresh snow when you want to repurpose your previous work, whereas Legos come back apart and reconfigure.  You have to think about how to make a snow object hold together -- where to pack it and if it has the strength to hold itself up -- whereas with Legos they mostly just fit.

Advantages and Disadvantages
There are advantages and disadvantages to both. Snowflakes aren't constrained by their shape or manueverability as much as legos are. But legos make generalizations easier, and when you're talking VNF's, it's probably better to have pieces that are relatively moldable, but still easy to build with.

AT&T Rice
AT&T has a lot to offer from great plans and phones to customer service, phone security. They are opening up a very good software and ECOMP systems. I think AT&T has some of the best knowledge of phone bussiness sofwares, phones, plans, services. It have the most recesption service across the United States. I learned a lot from this article about AT&T and very happy I read this article.

AT&T Rice
I think AT&T has very great service on their promises, vendors, and services providers. I am really shocked about VNF. The snowflakes are good I believe. I'm glad they are conecting better with the ECOMP.
