Re: If AI is critical for CSPs...
Not all AI experience is created equal? While it's nice to have some branding recognition from efforts like Watson winning Jeopardy! and Alphago winning at Go -- those algorithms are exactly the same ones that will transform business intelligence platforms. Watson is arguably a bit closer to the skills than AlphaGo is, but there's still a significant amount of work to tailor machine learning to specific tasks. General Artificial Intelligence is still beyond the horison!

DSP vs CSP?
I'm wondering when the "DSP" moniker will take off? There are still plenty of telco/cableco regulations that keep the various types of CSPs separated. So will DSPs emerge when the regulations are made more uniform? Or..?

If AI is critical for CSPs...
Does that give Google a leg up in entering this market? On the one hand, Google/Alphabet doesn't have the infrastructure in place that CSPs do, and that's an expensive asset to build. On the other hand, as Google does build its infrastructure out, it already has the advantage of deep expertise in AI/machine learning to optimize how those networks run and how the revenue-generating applications that run on top of them perform.

Re: AI everywhere?
@LightRay - definitely see the shift from "box-buying" to a more consultative purchase process, whether its due to a philosophical shift or just forced by virtualization. And there is a lot of buzz around the AI aspect, and the value of insight and predictive analytics is apparent.

But "customer centricity" -- I feel like I might have heard that before....somewhere...;)

AI everywhere?
IT seems that having artificial intelligence capabilities integrated into core services and managent platforms is going to be uber important.... another major challenge for teh CSPs as they try to become DSPs!!
