Re: Model modification
As I thought about your latest thoughts, I recalled Andy Grove's (the co-founder of Intel) when he reminded us all, "....Only the Paranoid Survive...."

Re: Model modification
As I have noted throughout my comments, the key is to not just embrace it, but making sure that the element of humanity is maintained--especially as I have seen how work the advances in Technology has left many behind.   All know about the instagram story--a company with only 13 people being bought out by Facebook for $ 1 Billion.   THere lies the true challenge in this transformation quest.

Change is something that is a given--this has to be accepted and embraced in a major way as part of the on-going transformation process.

Re: Model modification
A consumer has to sense value--if the value is there--consumers will come.  That's at the heart of it all.   That's vital.

Re: Netflix knows this well...
Directv still seems like a pricey acquisition for a streaming service plus a lot of satellite overhead. But maybe the satellite wireless spectrum can be re-purposed someday?

Re: Netflix knows this well...
It has been making a lot more sense to me why AT&T purchased DirecTV. It wasn't aboeut satellite; it was all about offering streaming services to those who are disinterested in $100 cable packages. I get it now.
