Level 3 video and Telepresence
The video part of it is interesting with which means more data usage to make it avaliableand usable and telelpresence is like you are in a virtual reality with you all in the same room together online. This will be beneficial for the customers to make it easier for them.

Very good initiative by Level 3.

Globalization is the nameof the game in recent times. People across the globe contributing for a common initiative is more than common in today's business. So that face value for interactions is considered very very critical. Making voice connection alone is a thing of past. Having that enhanced face time experience with all key folks certainly work better as folks connect better.

could not agree more...the globalization theme is driving the need to shrink these distances and the decision time as well.

It sounds like they are working to bridge gaps in-office. This seems like the right direction for the applications they describe

agree, and as service providers we need to make sure we make it easy for customers to consume these services, the UI and support model most be managed ETE.

It's especially important for those offices who still wish make training a priority but do not have the resources to have trainers in place geographically at all times.  I do a great deal of training using Virtual Meeting Rooms and it is a much better experience overall than your standard webinar or Skype.

This almost makes the case for in-office training from remote facilitators. The question becomes 'when' instead of 'if'.

Agreed. Customers want products fast and easy and it's important for servive providers to know that and I'm thankful for the ones that do!

one more thought here, i used to do my all hands calls in our event center becuase so many of our staff are loctaed in HQ and we would patch the remote offices in vie video and audio conferencing. the q&a sessions at the end you might think would have been more rhobust given the amount of people in the room vs. on the phone but this was not always the case. I recently switched and now do my regualr all hands calls using only video, the interaction has almost tripled,  everyone is now "equal" meaning all on video...they also can use IM to ask questions and feed off of each other, very interesting dynamic.
