Re: VR and OTT
Today's New York Times had one more story that underscored how folks are avoiding public markets all together--and how the likes of UBer, Snap et. al are relying on Sovereign Wealth Funds/VC's to fund expansions and have the ridiculous valuations that they are--which leaves the "little people" out of the picture.

It's amazing how many billion-dollar startups there are, though. Perhaps they're propped up with VC funds, but still, it's pretty incredible how the multi-billion dollar companies can still be threatened by a <2yo company.

Re: VR and OTT
He was focused on the US Tech Giants per se--but we have a lot of contenders to add to it (including Baidu/Alibaba on the tech side & beyond).     What is a bit disturbing, though, is how the powerful are becoming ever so--although they have to continue to stay hungry to flourish.

Hm. Amazon, Apple, Alphabet/Google, Facebook, & Microsoft? I'm not so sure about that prediction. I'm thinking Baidu or some other Chinese mega-corp might take a spot. I suppose if we're *just* talking about the US market....

But then why not make the list a bit longer and include Monsanto, Exxon, etc...?

Re: VR and OTT
Unfortunately what Farhad Mahjoo said today in his NY Times column   as the "frightful five" will be dominant--our challenge is to make sure we are not consumed--despite all the hype at #CES2017 & beyond--as I hope all take a note of this as we deliberate transformation throughout 2017:

Hmm. Levitating speakers and a few robots that are aiming to indoctrinate our children.. yup, we're doomed.

I don't think this is the best we can do.. I hope Elon Musk delivers his future for us. :P

Re: VR and OTT
Gaming, though< (and I hope you don't take this the wrong way @Bayte) is only one "part" of the puzzle--the advances in iOT being seen and other cool stuff being done is an indication of the possiblities--and that should be at the heart of the embrace of transformation.

Re: VR and OTT
Glad you enjoyed it @Bayte--some of these should prove especially keen for a gamer like yourself.    What would be interesting to see what will "stick" and be "sustainable"?
