Re: Security Lags Behind
I had no clue. That's crazy. You would think security would be looked into each year and be upgraded.

Re: Security Lags Behind
This is very very scary indeed--and one wonders about why we're seeing reporting of hacking all the time--we have to do better--no question.

Re: SDN IOT and security is behind
My pleasure--the challenge, though, is to make sure there is follow through-and I do wonder about it all.

Security Lags Behind
I worked at one company and they had not patched the employee computers in over six years and you would be surprised how often this happens at major companies including IT companies.

I agree that security must be included in the design and must continually be monitored, updated and upgraded because security threats, viruses and hackers are here to stay.

SDN IOT and Security Lags Behind
"...security is being largely forgotten in these transformation processes due to neglected patching."

I am not surprised. Companies only become concerned about security when customers do or until there is a data breach or major security threat.

Companies fail to realize that is costs exponentially more money to fix a security issue by being reactive than to be proactive and implement security measures to reduce security risks.

@Bayte:  Thanks for your thoughts--the key is to embrace it all.       It is frankly at times,s scary--As I am listening to the Tesla CTO, it makes me ever so hopeful.

Re: SDN IOT and security is behind
It has been an intersting discourse--but I wanted to throw this into the "mix" for the team to think about:

https://mondaynote.com/cheap-iot-threatens-the-internet-c7b44ab390f9#.8yo9uw3dj

This is to "piggy back" on what Mike has noted in his column and if it is not of concern, it should be.

Thoughts?
