SDN IOT and security is behind
So they will have to keep up with everything since new things and technology are constantly evolving and you would think security is right up there with them but it not so they should upgrade their systems with everything.else.

Re: SDN IOT and security is behind
I'm acutally surprised the number of obsolete network devices is dropping. It's a good thing to read, and motivates me to believe we're going to be able to patch newer devices at a scale never before possible.

@dc Agreed, I expected the opposite. I hope closing gaping security holes has become more important for device manufacturers.

This is especially true when it comes to critical devices. Medical equipment is an example. And cars are now so connected, there has to be some vulnerabilities out there, right? Consumers need to demand that these things are more secure, that's for sure.

@dcawrey  I would agree but in my minds this days security - proper security must be build in by design for all devices as you never know... and this days most device one way or other do connect to medical devices... as we are living in the interconnected world... - new reality...

Re: SDN IOT and security is behind
It has been an intersting discourse--but I wanted to throw this into the "mix" for the team to think about:

https://mondaynote.com/cheap-iot-threatens-the-internet-c7b44ab390f9#.8yo9uw3dj

This is to "piggy back" on what Mike has noted in his column and if it is not of concern, it should be.

Thoughts?

@Bayte:  Thanks for your thoughts--the key is to embrace it all.       It is frankly at times,s scary--As I am listening to the Tesla CTO, it makes me ever so hopeful.
