Re: Auto Play
@Ariella - my friends have complained to me for YEARS that they can never get a hold of me via phone. It was literally talked about during a toast at my wedding - 5 years ago. Yeah, if you want to talk to me, don't call me. (I will see a call come in and still ignore it.) I hate talking on the phone.

@Joe - limited data? Well, if 18GB is limiting I suppose. To be fair it is shared with my husband, who uses like nothing.

Re: Popularity features
@Joe - I agree, I think it would make more sense to customize the video shown to the actual viewer rather than have a general policy for everyone. In a world where it wouldn't be possible to customize the video, I could understand the thought process. But we all know they can see what our internet habits are and use that information to make a more informed decision about what will attract us to the site.

Re: Categorization
I had to create a separate profile for my mom because all of her happy-go-lucky viewing habits were messing with my suggested titles.  Just when netflix seemed to have figured out my penchant for dark comedies and true crime documentaries!

Re: Popularity features
@Joe The most popular videos on YouTube make be feel very uncool, as I generally have no desire to watch them (or have no idea what they're about).

Netflix's "trending" (or whatever they call it) always leaves me wondering "why?". (Which I then answer myself with, "probably because it's all they could find using the netflix app").

Re: Auto Play
I end up missing a bunch of calls for that reason too.

One thing i like about the iphone's "do not disturb" is that you can set it so that if someone calls twice in a row, it wiil ring through. That way I don't have to worry about being unreachable in case of an emergency.

Re: Auto Play
@Joe I guess at least most of them have moved away from flash? :-)

Re: Auto Play
@Adi I hadn't considered that. (maybe more than curiousity, it's the desire to make it just stop playing already! :-P )

Re: Auto Play
I'm the same way!  I don't like it when game apps play music or sound effects when you open them either.  I'm always turning the volume on my phone as low as it goes to avoid it.

Re: Multi-media
Me too! I think it's important to keep the viewers attention. And if it's easier for them to read the points than to watch them then I think they should be included!

Re: Auto Play
@elizabeth I hate having videos just start playing, too. But for those trying to contact you, keeping your phone on silent can be frustrating. My daughter does that, and then when I try to call her, I just get voicemail, and she remains oblivious.
