Virtualization rising and continuing
Virtualization is already here and with SDN etc. More technologies that make virtual reality more out there and a convenience for everyone.

Re: Virtualization rising and continuing
<The investment in NFV will be led by the virtualization of mobile network functions, which will grow from $11.8 billion in 2020, up from the current base of $2 billion.>

That's quite a jump. I'm not sure I'm certain we'll see it go up that much that quickly.

@Ariella, @fayl:

This caught my attention as well. The rate of jump is more than 5 times and that is huge. We will have to watch and see how that really ends up.

Also virtualization is inevitable. Each year we become more and more advanced in technology and knowledge. It's no surprise that virtualization is creeping up on us.

The Race to Virtualization
I believe with virtualization already being here with SDN and alot more it will futuristic to see what's next. This is alot of focus on what's next with the future with virtually services. My opinion is I can't wait to see what's next in the near future and from company's like this.

The Race To Virtualzation
For some reason, I don't find that huge rate of growth to more than $11 billion in 2020 from $2 billion unrealistic considering the rate service providers are deploying SDN and NFV. I haven't looked at any other surveys, so I don't know if that figure looks high, but my gut tells me it could be within the realm of possibility.

If the jump includes costs associated with deployment and the different vendors, manufacturers, etc., it seems to make more sense, I think.

@faryl:

That is a valid point. I would assume cost includes all componenets, otherwise i think it would be an incomplete fact to be considered for survey.

Re: The Race To Virtualzation
@dlr:

Unfortunately i don't think there is any simple solution or assurance we can get. We just need to be vigilent in terms of all OS / security updates as they get rolled out.

Just this morning i got a message on my phone - looks like there is a video of Malaysian airlines crashing into the sea being circulated to mobile phones. If the video is opened, it ends up hacking into all mobile banking related data - the message said. So we got to be really aware of things around us and apply our best judgement. That's all we can do.

It is very unfortunate to see that all creativity is being put towards destructive outcome in such cases. We get to hear such random incidents very regularly. So we just need to be careful with what we receive in our phones.

Virtualization Race
I do know virtualization has been out there for some time now, but it is so much more intense now.  I love creating visualization in my work and it will really be neat to see what other companies will be creating with it in the future.  In 2020 looks like there will be the UMP, but I am not really sure how much it will be.
