Re: Are you in the content business or aren't you?
@Bayte: I believe in what Einstein noted (and others have underscored), that folks who don't make mistakes usually don't do anything--otherwise Edison would not have blessed us with Electricity and we would not be part of this vibrant community as we are. It should never deter us--not withstanding our challenges.

@mpouraryan yes and no as I always try to remember history and try not to repeat errors of the past :)

Re: Are you in the content business or aren't you?
@Bayte: I sense a note of pessimism in your thoughts--I hope I'm mistaken in this assessment because the only way to transform (as what's being rolled out at #CES2017 clearly shows) is optimism and an eye towards the future.

Re: Are you in the content business or aren't you?
@mpouraryan yes, I could not agree more... as long as we are willing to learn from the past and use this lessons in the future :)

Re: Are you in the content business or aren't you?
Although I tend to agree with you @batye, what you envision goes against the very nature of transformation itself. We have to think different and not be afraid to embrace change--right?

Re: Are you in the content business or aren't you?
@mpouraryan for me it easy and simple as people want to hold to they childhood good memories and retro gaming does offer this outlet... on the other hand all generation could embrace it :) as proof in the numbers in USA/Canada Nintendo Mini sold out...
Re: Are you in the content business or aren't you?
@bayte: How can this vision of yours, though, be made transformational in a way that all generations are able to embrace it?

Re: Are you in the content business or aren't you?
@mpouraryan :) for me to get to the root is to get to the right answer...
as example right now old generation is retiring and they have disposoble income
many get into bying Retro Gaming devices to bring back the good memories...
and
many players put out devices like
Hyperkin NES RetroN 1
and many others but the quality of the build is to be desired...
and after too many fails people do not buy them...
Nintendo put Nintendo mini - and it instant hit... but Nintendo mini is properly build and well designed :) - now only if Nintendo to fullfill the market need :) as everywhere Nintendo mini is OOS...
Re: Are you in the content business or aren't you?
Creating is always a challenge--no doubt-as I had a chance (prompted by your thoughts on gaming") to reflect upon the predicament of gamers. You talked about "Roots"--please expand on it when your schedule permits!!

Re: Are you in the content business or aren't you?
@mpouraryan yes, you are right, but for me to fix the problem, is to figure out what creating it or looking for the root of it... but I hope New 2017 will be better year...
