Exactly! You think you're getting something for free when in reality you end up paying for this or that.

Re: Are you in the content business or aren't you?
I was making a rhetorical observation--No apologies necessary.  The closest one is what FreedomPop has been trying to do in partnership with Sprint.    Faascinating to be witness to it all..right?

@mp:

Sorry if i caused any confusion.

What Reliance did in India is a true transformation,a healthy one. Hope other nations will pick a key message out of that.

If that is not true transformation, I really don't know what is.   The question is whether the key giants in the United States will learn from it.

Re: Are you in the content business or aren't you?
I am still trying to figure out, for instance, how would folks pay $1000 for a phone?

@mpouraryan:

For me it is awfully crazy to even think about this. I would wonder the underlying thought behind folks that would get ready to proceed with buying such devices.

@mpouraryan:

Can't agree more with you. Reliance's move in India is certainly commendable. Hoping for more such moves in future.

Absolutely, that positive yield at the end of the tunnel is very critical. That would be the only thing that can help seal a deal at the end.

Re: Culture Reason
@batye:

Yes, that makes complete sense. Everyone likes to see the product working before investing anything on it. That is a fair expectation for an average consumer.

It will quite a remarkable scene as we are witness to the "Spin".   It is a tool--but it is more than a tool--as content is increasingly driven thru it whether we like it or not.
