Re: IoT Top Priority
Completely agree! I think you e touched on a bit of everything. Partnerships are crucial to businesses growth along with good communication with consumers. Security is always important too..

Re: IoT Top Priority
@freehe I agree -- picking just one item was tough. Cooperation and standards will help. I think we'll see considerable innovation when all these groups work together (if they aren't too busy working against one another for market share).

IoT Top Priority
I couldn't decide on what is the most important priority. I think there are several:

IoT needs standards, but success in the field also requires partnerships and collaborations with service integrators, vendors, companies and the industry needs big data and streaming analytics experts that can view, update and analysis the data and make the data useful for usage by companies.

Re: IoT. I chose cloud.
@Steve: I also chose cloud for the reasons you stated (I mean, if we had to boil it down to ONE...), but at the end of the day, it's partnerships with everybody.  This was the takeaway of a recent conference I attended held by an IoT collaborative body that operates on this very premise -- this premise of learning from each other.

Still, though, cloud partnerships are important -- and going beyond the most basic of what it means to be in a "cloud partnership" as well.  This was the message from a session at a separate conference I attended earlier this year on cybersecurity.  One of the speakers spoke about partnering with their cloud providers to improve security.  People are so concerned about auditing cloud vendors, but this guy was saying let your cloud vendors audit YOU in turn -- so you can learn from them about how to do better.

IoT. I chose cloud.
I voted cloud partnerships. There's just way too much data with IoT to do it any toher way but with cloud. You have to have the cloud partnerships or it won't work. I don't see any other way.

What do other people think?
