It's clear that the underlying paradigms for understanding the shift to SD-WAN involve flexible profit-in-each-increment structures, de-siloing, and device independence. And all of those things are automatic, built in assumptions in any OTT-like structure. So there's bound to be some convergence and intellectual borrowing between the two spheres. But exactly where and what seems to be a little way in the future, just yet. Maybe both SD-WAN and OTT are just translations into the technical and consumer interfaces, respectively, of not-yet-fully-understood shared principles; maybe we're just starting to see the area where the two will interact; maybe something else.
