Maybe also a CAPEX issue there? Having sunk investment into a technology, you want to recoup as much as possible before evolving to the next-gen technology.

There's always going to be a place for legacy networks because they do their job. Most of the time they do them well. The only problem is that they can fail if they are not properly managed.

@clrmoney, I believe they will as well.  That was an excellent radio show with Mr. Sabey.  They clearly have a strong vision and value proposition to serve their customer's problems, as opposed to just selling virtualization.  I believe their design will put them at the front of the pack.

The part about NFV and software defined networks is interesting as it relates to virtualization is great for BT. I'm sure they will have many great things to come.
