Sensity
That video node has advanced analytics where you can do parking, traffic management, or even video surveillance as well.

Sensity  - This acquisition seems very interesting. Having advanced analytics incorporated at lampstops is really key to analyze traffic patterns. This really will be a smart feature which will have practical value add.

Shared Services Model
there's lighting; there's traffic; there's video surveillance; there's parking; there are kiosks; there are utility solutions; and, for transportation solutions, like telematics, we have a shared solution,....

This is shared services model for the Smart world that we are getting into. I am sure more thoughts and efforts are going to be invested and hope to see this getting better and better.

Speaking as a guy who has done a certain amount of local politics ....
The whole kiosk idea strikes me as a certain kind of dumb romanticism that outside consultants dependably bring into local politics.  (In fact it's an electronic version of the paper community bulletin boards that many cities continue to put up despite abundant evidence that people prefer to get basic civic information in almost every other conceivable way, and people who are out on the street are either on their way to something else -- in which case they don't particularly want to stop for the posted information -- or else are just hanging out -- in which case they are looking for something a lot more interesting than garbage pick up schedules, school board meeting times, etc.

This is coming up with a way to automate something that nobody (except city planning consultants) wants or uses in the first place.  Nice money in it for Verizon if they can get someone to fall for it, I guess.
