Re: The future is not far off..
That's awesome! Like I said, I'm not huge into games so I had no idea how advanced they are today! Thanks for the info!

They are pretty advanced! I have a friend who is training his autonomous RC car algorithms using a car racing video game engine. So before the car even hits a real physical course, it will be trained on a virtual course first.

It's apparently far less expensive to deal with a car crashing in a VR world than in the real world...

I also recently saw a football league where the teams' plays are called by the fans, so maybe we'll get to the point where the audience will be much more involved in all kinds of stadium events in real time...

Re: Quite social
@Michelle, that is a good question, I wonder the same thing. Is the attention span the same or less. Would like to see the statistics on that.

@afwriter, good point. You are right. That is the time when VR should have a huge surge in usage but it didn't. Curious about the future of VR and usage statistics.

@Mitch Wagner, I tottaly agree. What is exciting or interesting about that. I can see VR being used for employee training or gaming but other than that what's the point?

Re: VR everywhere
@clrmoney, but it still is not as popular as the industry expected it would be. Many people still are not interested in VR.

I'm not a huge gamer so I'm not sure how advanced games are today, but it's so awesome to me that football games can look as realistic as live football games. So cool!

It won't be long until the whole Superbowl will be able to be rendered virtually in real-time. Madden NFL 17 is already pretty realistic, so with just a bit more computing power, I'm sure simulated football games could become almost indistinguishable from the actual game.

Re: Quite social
@Michelle - I haven't had the occasion to do anything with VR either, but I would imagine my toleranace for it would be low.  I did look to see what kind of feedback or reaction is out there to the LiveLike experience, but I haven't seen anything.  Did anyone on the boards try it out or know anyone who did?

Re: Quite social
I haven't tried VR myself. 3D movies are tough to get through. I wonder what the typical game play session looks like. Do people actually spend a long time with VR the same way they do with console and PC games?
