They are pretty advanced! I have a friend who is training his autonomous RC car algorithms using a car racing video game engine. So before the car even hits a real physical course, it will be trained on a virtual course first.

It's apparently far less expensive to deal with a car crashing in a VR world than in the real world...

I also recently saw a football league where the teams' plays are called by the fans, so maybe we'll get to the point where the audience will be much more involved in all kinds of stadium events in real time...

That's awesome! Like I said, I'm not huge into games so I had no idea how advanced they are today! Thanks for the info!
