Re: Pendulum
@afwriter I think we are going to see that, save any movement towards things like wearables and VR. But we'll see. Right now, the defacto form factor is the smartphone, and that's not going to change anytime soon.

Re: Pendulum
afwriter - Interesting thought. I wonder if that's a generational issue -- young eyes are happier watching small screens; but as they age, viewership shifts...?

Pendulum
Everything I read, and even statistics from my website, tells me that people are using mobile over anything else. I am assuming that this will continue to be the trend for a while, but I wonder if at some point people will start to get tired of the small screens and gravitate back towards the bigger screens again.

Re: More mobile for devices
Ariella - Ooyala consolidates data collected on video starts from it's platform, which services hundreds of customers (broadcasters, streaming service providers etc.). That adds up to several hundred million streams.

Perhaps they also collect more granular data such as dmographics etc., but they don't include that in their public reports. Here, it's just regional: NA, APAC, LATAM etc.

Re: More mobile for devices
@Adi Interesting. Does it say how many people were surveyed and offer any breakdown by age or other identifiers of the population?

More mobile for devices
They say that more people are watching mobile on their tablets and desktops etc. I agree in a way because smatphones have small screen. There will be more video usage on smartphones of course as time goes on too.
