Re: Netflix Different Take on it.
@Ariella That's surprising. I would expect interactive video to work better on a PC, but I suppose it might be more appealing on mobile (while you're waiting in a long line or something).

This sounds like a lot of work for production companies. Netflix may have the data to substantiate this, but I think the smaller the screen the less compelling content is. This is why I still think movie theaters may find a way to survive these streaming times.

Re: Netflix Different Take on it.
@Afwriter I just interviewed someone about interactive videos. He said they do work on mobile devices, though not as well as on PCs -- for now. He's optimistic the situation will improve as mobiel technology does. As for standard video, it should work fine, though, obviously, your view of it would be smaller even on full screen.

If they do take this approach I am interested to see how they can manage it without affecting the quality of the program.

Re: Netflix Different Take on it.
This is a clever approach as you have a large population of folks tethered to their phones round the clock.  I have to wonder how dramatically different the viewing experience would be though - I would think it would have to be pretty significant for people to notice and/or care.  I, however, prefer the large screen experience.  Thoughts from actual smart phone viewers?

Netflix Different Take on it.
Netflix can come up with something new and better for video etc. Then I say go for it to make it better than other competitors.
