@Mhhf1ve do you think that they will crank out different streaming apps or do you think that they will simply start breaking up YouTube into different categories like YouTube live, YouTube Tutorials, YouTube Animation, etc.

Re: Online Video Tops Messaging
Snapchat is a strange hybrid that currently has a good position, but I really wonder about Google Hangouts and even Skype -- those are video conferencing platforms that haven't quite broken into the younger crowd (or started an ad-based revenue stream).
Then again, seeing how the messaging landscape has been littered with abandoned/dead services over the years, I wonder how long these messaging companies will last. eg Yahoo messenger, AOL messenger, MSN chat, etc, etc..

Where does Snapchat rank in this. It's kind of a hybrid because it's video messaging. I guess that's probably why the company is doing so well - it's really the best of both worlds when you think about it.

Re: Online Video Tops Messaging
It's interesting that Google has several messaging apps -- throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks... but only two apps for youtube (the regular app and the one for kids).
I expect to see Google start cranking out more and more video streaming apps that aren't Youtube-based now...?

Online Video Tops Messaging
I'm not surprised with the 71% of teens watching videos online instead of texting because almost everyone has a smart phone to access things immediately that's posted online. As for texting /messaging needs to stop when it come to driving or walking to your destination.
