UC
Unified Communications is really popular in organizations. Companies like Windstream are being undercut by tech companies like Google which offers mostly software only solutions to this problem.

@dcawrey:

Agree with you about Google and other similar companies trying to undercut Windstream. And teh reason is certainly due to added advantage of their software only solutions approach.

Windstream 'Diverse Connect'
Security is important to businesses when they migrate to the cloud, so it's not surprising that financial and healthcare were the first to jump on board with Diverse Connect.

There is absolutely no denial about the need of cloud security. It is pretty obvious to see both financial and healthcare companies jumping on board with diverse connect. We will have to see how things will progress.

@ms.akkineni from my point of view security in the cloud not easy or simple and a constant process to find holes and plug/patch them...

Agreed. As you mentioned, that constant process of finding gaps would be the begining of another invention. And that goes on and on...

single point of failure
Suprising to hear that many cloud solutions have a single point of failure. As a growing amount of content, applications and services migrate to the cloud you would think that high availability and redundancy would be a basic requirement.

Re: single point of failure
@Adi:

Not very pleasant to hear about single point of failure. Though we know that high availability and redundancy are basic requirements, there still needs to be some work delivered by enterprises to bridge the gaps or meet the exact needs that solutions would need.

Trivial Facts
As more and more businesses move to the cloud, service providers are challenged with ensuring high availability, reliability and security for cloud services across a diverse access network.

Such trvivial and key facts - availability, reliability and security.

Each of the above has its own challenges associated in terms of meeting needs. The more these get mature the ease the service providers are going to feel..

Combination
Diverse Connect is part of Windstream's solution set that includes voice, data, Unified Communications and security offerings.

What a promising combination - voice, data, UC and security. Diverse Connect is playing it right in terms of what is being offered. I can certainly foresee this grabbing attention among enterprise.

Packaging
"We have been doing business continuity solutions for a long time now, but we made an effort to leverage assets and be much more deliberate in how we package it for customers so they don't have to deal with the friction of à la carte approach,"

This is surely the key feature to consider. Often times lack of ease the way a product is packaged could be one of teh reasons for product's failure or not so much os success. So this improvement will definitely come as an added advantage.

Re: Packaging
@batye:

Ofcourse, there is no denial about 'Cost Savings' being one of the key factors for all businesses at present. Besides that another commanding reason could be 'Go Green' initiative for many companies moving towards providing e-manuals in place of paper copy.
