Re: Competition
So do I! It would help, not only the companies stay on top of their game, but also lower prices for the consumers!

Re: Viu might be very shrewd in their choice
@dcawrey - I think you're right. As much as Netflix wants to dominate, they'll struggle in areas outside of the West. I think American's like to think their culture is the only one. But it's certainly not the case. And Asian cultures have a lot of differences from our own. I think Netflix needs to accept they can't cater to everyone and allow other areas to create their own OTT services that speak more to their cultures.

I can see this being popular
If the content they offer is geared towards the Asian culture (and I'm sure it is) I'm sure their original content will be popular. It sounds like they have a very large library to offer, including original content. Almost like Netflix but geared specifically for the Asian culture. I'm not sure why this would fail, unless the price is just absurd or the management is poor.

@dcawrey, I agree. They may have taken on more than they can handle right now. I applaud them for their ambition though.

@JohnBarnes, Good point. They want small pieces in easily digestible bites. You always provide good insight. Thanks.

This is a public service announcement (not really just kidding about that). We want more choices in the U.S. also.

Competition
Competition is always good for consumers. I wish in some industries there was more competition on the U.S.

I know! It's actually crazy to think about. They are growing so fast and at this rate they're just going to become bigger and bigger!

Re: Viu might be very shrewd in their choice
Netflix wants to dominate the world, but I think being a specialized regional player is going to slow the streaming giant's ability to execute. It's going to be really hard to be a global video content provider. I won't count Netflix out, but this goal is very ambitious.
