Britain VR Video
I think as time goes on there will be more people waching VR video in Britain or the UK because they would like to keep up with advanced technology.

VR tech is interesting, but I also feel it is a bit gimmicky. Yes, people are watching short videos now, but will that continue? Will people engage for long-form content with a device strapped to their heads?

@dcawrey I think in future it wil lhave to work without such headsets to really become integral to mainstream entertainment.

@Ariella I would think that someone like Apple will be able to produce a product that is like glasses. Because headsets are just not going to be welcomed by a lot of people.

@dcawrey Very likely, and it may well be working on it now. The company is rumored to be working out a way to make AR work on mobile soon.

Ariella, dcawrey - Agreed. The headsets are a real limitation, at least for video. But its progressing fast. MSFT's HoloLens has several apps already available, and ODG's smartglasses generated a lot of buzz at CES this year.

I was reading about Apple's progress in this space.
They aren't really talking about VR, more about AR because as a company with billions of users, they have to start with something useable.

@dcawrey - I agree it's very gimmicky. I had said in a different post my husband was at a grand opening for a new home building that is going in and they were using VR to let potential buyers get an idea for what the homes will look like once they are built. He said it was really cool, but like you said, that's just a short amount of time, going through your "potential home" and then you put the head set down and walk away. I hate wearing my glasses for prolonged periods of time, I don't see putting on a headset for a few hours for any reason.

@Adi we'll know the future has truly arrived when the VR experienc ecan be packed into contact lenses. Then you can appear to be here while you're immersed in something completely different.

@Ariella interesting point:) in my books some people could cope with few things at once... but some like me could only do one thing at the time... VR expr build in contact lenses would put my brain to sleep... but it just me...
