And as time goes on that's the only way they can really perfect what they're working on now.

Kind of a Faber College answer
Faber College, some of you will recall, is the college in "Animal House." A statue of its founder stands on a pedastel which reads "Knowledge is good."

Yes, because SD-WAN is software driven and remotely operated, it runs on information that  is easier to access, accumulate, and store than the same information from an old hardware-based LAN.  That is what makes big data approaches to optimization in telecom technology possible.

But that's also not news, and it's about all that Desai was credited with having said.  Exactly what is new about the GTT approach? What does it give us that we didn't get before?

Re: Strategies for SD-WAN
@dcawrey, I agree. I think WAN will be around for a long time. WAN has been around for a long time, I believe WAN usage began in the 1980s.

Here is an infographic of the history of WAN.

SD WAN
"The ability to bring together different WAN access options (broadband, fiber and wireless backup) that integrates into a global network backbone is a crucial aspect in any enterprise WAN solution. SD-WAN leverages our hybrid WAN capabilities to create a more cost-effective network infrastructure and unified experience. This improves application awareness and performance plus the efficiency of bandwidth utilization and network control."

SD-WAN can help companies solve access options, expand their reach, increase their customer base and revenue and increase efficiency.

SD-WAN is also interoperable since it can be used with hybrid WANs and other technologies to provide a comprehensive solution for networks.

Re: Strategies for SD-WAN
I think WAN has a big future. Networks are becoming larger and more complex, with a new software layer on top. WAN infrastructure is going to start reflecting these changes as well.

Strategies for SD-WAN
They say it can bring together different WAN Options like broadband and wireless backup etc. They can use whatever is needed to make it better as time goes on.
