I think that this is a plus for the video world because we watch it on our phones dvrs etc. It may be good for us as well as business.

Re: Video is great for everyone
5G is really going to change the way people view mobile content.

I know the quality is okay now, but it's going to get so much better. Will it induce people to switch from other forms of content to mobile? I'm not entirely sure yet...

Re: Video is great for everyone
dcawrey  - I think it depends on the genre. Matt described a sort of viewing hiearchy for sports viewing, with the stadium as the ideal option, a large screen as next and the mobile as  a screen of last resort almost. It may be true of sports...although I'm not even sure that is true anymore, but for other types of video communication and entertainment I think mobile might end up being the preferred screen already.

LTE Broadcast
Matt's comments on LTE broadcast are particularly interesting, as LTE-B could potentially manage "content storms" very effectively. By switching from hundreds of unicast live streams to a single broadcast stream, the operator would immediately clear up a tremendous amount of capacity. In the past, broadcast capacity has had to be hardwired, but now I believe this can be done dynamically.

This means if a live event goes "viral" you can simply allocate broadcast capacity for it, and use the rest of your spectrum for day-to-day activities. This way the LTE-B stream viewers get a high quality experience, without taking up a huge amount of network bandwidth and compromising everyone else's experience.
