Re: AI and IOT
@mouraryan, I think not.  Yes there are risks, but the rewards are many - including shaping the future.  That's what leadership is really all about.

Good points!

Re: AI Cybersecurity
AI is the great unknown--if not managed properly, it is bound to have unintended consequences--and we must all be on guard for it.     I wonder if that s being realized as the current "Firghtful five" along with the brethern supporting them (AT&T et. al) understand that.

Re: AI and IOT
What is also critical to underscore is that transformation at its' abstract is unpredictable--and ripe for failure (something that we all can attest to).   The question is, though, one of anticpiating, understanding and realizing when to navigate thorugh the minefields.   I wonder whether our brethren in Washington truly understand that....

Re: AI Cybersecurity
@freehe, fully agree - I think cybersecurity is a great application for AI and cognitive computing.  It has the market size and patterns that can well establish viable alert monitoring systems for notification and management.

Re: AI and IOT
@mpouraryan, good point!  By changing the patterns again you may create dis-equallibrium and unleash unintended consequences - now that the market has settled in.

AI Cybersecurity
"A great deal of startup activity is also concentrated in cybersecurity. Real-time analytics on streaming data finds anomalous patterns that point to malicious activity which humans cannot possibly spot with a manual inspection of the data."

AI and IoT are great ways to combat cybersecurity which seems to get worse every year. Using AI will allow companies to find potentials threats faster and develop a plan to address and reduce larger scale threats such as DDOS attacks and cyber attacks.

AI Security Risks
"Machine learning algorithms need vast amounts of data to learn, and this data was available from the millions of images captured by smartphones and stored in the cloud. These images, 120 million of them, were categorized and catalogued to train machine learning algorithms"

If you didn't already know companies are using your smartphones images and images stored in the cloud for R&D. This is one of the reasons why I don't use apps, the cloud or store images on my phone. Any images I receive on my phone I immediately delete or upload to my computer.

Re: AI and IOT
What is imperative for us to all remember is that even Adam Smith himself noted that the "invisible hand" needs guidance--and this lesson seems to be lost on the current crowd in charge at the FCC as they rush in their zeal to overturn things.  Why Break it if it is not?

Re: AI and IOT
@mpouraryan, undermines only in that it removes the regulation that mandates it.  So there is still the opportunity for the markets/consumers, and leading effectie companies to design and deliver the services that customers want.  That is the target I am focusing on.
