Re: Canada's Bell Launches Skinny Bundle
@freehe, thanks!  The companies that learn how to do that will reap the benefits of certain consumer markets for the packaged bundles they develop.  This should be more profitable than guessing - and possibly deliver a "win-win" for both the company and the consumer.

Re: Canada
@dcawrey, maybe I misinterpreted, but I took it that they are delivering a package designed for "usable" (ie customer desired) channels, which would be different than just buying the "store", as is the American model right now - which indeed limits customer choices.

That's why someone in the market, like batye, may be helpful to affirm the Canadian markets and its choices for their consumers.

The value will always be in delivering what the customer "wants"!

Re: Canada
@Michelle, @dcawrey I don't see the benefit of the skinny bundle to customers. It is great that they are offering a skinny bundle but if it is not affordable customers will not purchase the bundle and will increase churn.

They need to start from scratch and redesign the skinny bundle package. Cable TV is a luxury and based on the economic woes over the past decade customers are looking for ways to cut spending and cable is on the list of reducing spending.

Cable companies need to make cable more attractive and provide bundles that serve multiple types of customers because the one size fits all model no longer works.

Re: Canada's Bell Launches Skinny Bundle
@dhagar, I agree. Companies need to do customer surveys to find out what customer really want and provide products and services for all customers not just a certain segement or demographic.

The traditional model of delivering products and services is outdated and companies need to change their business models to remain competitive and remain financially stable.

Canada Skinny
It is great that Canada is now offering skinny bundles and are doing so although they do not experience as much churn as US cable compaines.

I wionder why they haven't offered skinny bundles sooner.

The Telus Corp's company stock price may start to increase due to the recent service offerings which will increase revenue and make sharedholders happy. I might have to buy some stock.

@dcawrey That's on top of the cost for Internet service too... I'm thinking this deal isn't such a great one ;)

Re: Canada
500 channels for $75? How is this different from cable again?

Look, I get that cable companies want to cash in on streaming. But this just sounds like cable on a laptop for a lot of money. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
