Re: UHD Coming
That's why I'm wondering what the SD vs HD split is now. How many people are willing to pay a bit more for HD? Or conversely, save a bit by watching in SD?

Re: UHD Coming
If consumers are will to pay for UHD then of course providers should be offering as many cahnnels in the format as possible.

The problem is - how much are they willing to pay?

Re: UHD Coming
Amazon still sells 3D glasses for TVs.. so it's dead, but I assume there are still some people out there who have the hardware -- and may be looking for any kind of 3D content to watch.

I wonder if the 3D video format is dead because it can't be licensed? If it were as open as the mp3 format, maybe there would be more creators willing to work with it? (or at least more pirated 3D files to watch...)

Re: UHD Coming
Does anyone have stats on how the market is split currently between SD and HD video streams? I wonder how much demand there is for UHD video if there's still a significant number of SD video watchers who don't see the appeal of HD or more advanced video options.

I also wonder what ever happened to "3D TV" content... presumably, there are zillions of 3D-capable TVs out there and not much content for them.
