OCP Seeks to Broaden Reach
Interesting that Facebook was the pioneer for the Open Compute Project. The "disaggregated" solution works well for them apparently, but how will it benefit telco carriers?

Defense in depth against vendor lock-in
Well-thought-out and I bet this was a hit with all the open stack folks. I suppose it's in the blood for vendors to try to find ways to lock in (going back to the extra-big holes in the middle for 45 phonograph records when they replaced 78s, followed shortly by the various attempts to pressure manufacturers into not putting a 78 speed on turntables).  But there is nothing positive to be said for it (unless your trust fund is loaded with vendor stock).  It's nice to see another front opened in the battle against lock-in.

Re: OCP and OpenStack
@clrmoney, fully agree.  And development of both will lead to more choices.

OCP and OpenStack
I think they both can be a value and compliment each other with what they have to offer. With their technologies of hardware and softwares, I think they can achieve something.
