Re: SD WAN premise service
@afwriter I would certainly agree with that, there's vert little education for people out there regarding the issues of security.

Most tech companies would rather sell a solution than education though I think.

Re: SD WAN premise service
I think most people are still very much in the dark about internet security which is why identity theft and identity theft protection are both booming industires.

Re: SD WAN premise service
@srufolo1. Yes they do. The means the encryption will automated. I am curious about the settings that Level 3 will use to set the automated encryption for Premium SD-WAN.

Encryption
"The company went on to report that its SD-WAN product, which is available today, includes security and privacy features that will enable site-to-site encryption regardless of access method, backbone connection, or the composition of public and/or private infrastructural components implicated."

This is great! All companies need to enable site-to-site encryption. Althought WAN providers claim that traffic on network is secure and doesn't need ecryption now but one day it will.

Re: SD WAN premise service
@afwriter. I agree. A company that offers security protection is much more desirable to residential as well as commercial customers. It is actually amazing how many customers sign up with service providers that don't have security measures or have very lax security measures or don't even both to ask the question.

Level 3 Security
Finally a company that gets it. I am glad that they are offering 24/7 monitoring as well as analytics. As we freely give our personal information and access to personal items (auto, home, appliances, etc.) to companies we are greatly exposing ourselves to more vulnerabilities and security risks including fraud and identity theft.

Hopefully all U.S. companies will follow Level 3's lead and provide this service to residential and commercial customers.

Re: SD WAN premise service
@afwriter I agree. The security and privacy features is a big differentiator. Enterprises worry most about security.

Re: SD WAN premise service
@clrmoney, that is a new and growing capability that I believe will increasingly become an expectation.  It also provides the valuable framework for cyber security to be added and function at an effective level.

I think it is interesting that they included security, and I am betting it makes them more desirable than many competitors.
