Re: Choices
It can definitely be expensive. I guess in that situation you just have to figure out if spending the extra money is worth it in the long run.

Re: Choices
@dcawrey Plus original content isn't cheap. I guess a smaller player can take on more of a distribution role for less-known talent & hope to get lucky with a "find"?

Re: SD-WAN advancing forward
It will definitely be interesting to see how SD-WAN evolves since this is only the beginning.

Re: Choices
@mhhf1ve We're seeing big players get into content, but I think it will be harder for the smaller organizations to follow suit. There's only so much content to go around, and creation of such is a pretty tall task.

Re: Choices
I can't but wonder what offering is on the table to "blow people away".      I know we've scratched the surface--but have we truly do so?

Re: Choices
It definitely has to be a difficult tightrope to walk between being diversified and not stretching themselves too thin.

Re: Choices
@mpouraryan I think in some cases it is kind of a "chicken or the egg" situation with what is wanted and what is offered.

Re: Choices
> "For many years, telcos had pretty basic requirements. Now it seems as though there are an explosion of choices..."

Very true.. and there is much more competition from a variety of directions. There are datacenters and ad networks.. Telcos can't remain simple telcos anymore. They must diversify and get into content ownership and all sorts of other revenue streams to stay on top of their industry. A "basic" telco has a lot of maintenance costs and not a whole lot of profit margin to play with if it doesn't innovate in other areas.

SHouldn't the choices, though, be drive by customer requirements?
