Re: AT&T
I have Verizon, which comes with their own problems. But I have heard from friends that the AT&T stores are horrible..

Re: AT&T
The problem with mergers like this is that while it does provide some efficiency for the company, it's generally not good for the consumer. The more choice consumers have, the more companies have to fight for the business. I don't see that happening with this deal; it could mean prices rise and choices go down.

Re: AT&T
That stinks, hopefully, that is an AT&T of the past and my experience is the AT&T of the future. I guess we will both have to experience it again and see.

Re: AT&T
@afwriter. Everytime I got to an AT&T store I have a bad experience. I always have to wait for service and get a sales clerk who avoids answering the hard questions.

Re: So AT&T+TW is just a transitional stage ...
@JohnBarnes. That is so true. I am glad you said it. I was wondering the same thing. I get it that AT&T would get content customers but what is the other benefit of merging.

Re: Splitsville for AT&T and Time Warner
@afwriter, Good point. I hadn't  thought of that. I would rather see that option than see two huge companies merging. In the end it never benefits customers.

Re: Splitsville for AT&T and Time Warner
no worries...but here is the bigger question I briefly alluded to: the consolidation happening that is being spreaheaded by that master dealmakers behind Liberty, John Malone, which can have trasnformational effects on both content delivery and creation...that I think is the bigger picture here....

Re: AT&T
@afwriter that's the best customer experience possible. No, I haven't been in a store lately, but I have opened a couple of new phone service lines in the past year  and was quite happy with the rep on the phone.

Re: AT&T
@Ariella, have you been to an AT&T store lately. I just upgraded my phone a few days ago and I was shocked at how streamlined and customer centric they have become. I felt like I was being helped and not sold to.
